Diet

  • They naturally hunt mammals like deer, cows, buffalos, fish and insects based on their subtype. In the wild, Vikai can be found in herds and will try to avoid contact with other species unless hunting.   

Height

  • Vikai vary drastically in sizes. 





Reproduction

  • Vikais brood clutches up to 5 eggs at a time. Smaller subspecies may have clutches of up to 15 eggs. Vikai are very protective of their young,

    General Lore
    Air Vikai are common but are hard to obtain due to their flight response to danger. While these Vikai are the shyest of the variations they make amazing flyers and fast at that. They are the fastest variation of all Vikai and are known to grow a very close bond with their companions to the point where they will willingly trust their partner to guide them in the air. Air Vikai are agile and flexible. They can not run very fast, but reach 100kph while in flight. They can come in an assortment of variations as their heads can be smooth or covered in spikes, fur, horns and much more.

    Tendrils on the chest, can be longer or shorter. Must atleast have 1 pair, but more can be added on the body.

Land Vikai (Land/Battle)

    General Lore
    Land Vikai are one of the most common variations of Vikai. Like horses, they are known for their speed and durability, some are even seen scaling sharp cliff faces in their natural environments. These Vikai have vents or "nostrils" at the back of their neck and chest that release steam when the Vikai run for long periods of time. Land Vikai often eat any type of meat they can catch, mostly deer, rabbits, and so forth. They can also sustain themselves on a diet of fruit and high-nutritional plants.

    Land Vikai are the most common mount in Elyxium, and breeding them for their coats and physic is a common profession. Land Vikai can come in a virality of physics, some based on speed, durability, endurance, combat and much more. Vikai for example bred for speed may have more sails on the body, have a lighter physic and thinner limbs, while those for combat may have a rough hide, more horns and spikes and thicker limbs. 

    Requirements:
    Slit Eyes.

    Tendrils on the chest, can be longer or shorter. Must atleast have 1 pair, but more can be added on the body. 
    Maw "teeth" can be any style.
    Tail can be furry or hairless in any basic style. (No scorpions etc) 
    Vents on the neck to release air.

    Sails can be cut, styled and overgrown to be similar to horse "manes".

Water Vikai (Water/Battle)

      General Lore
      Water Vikai are quite curious creatures, averaging from 4-10 meters long they often over-shadow any common main species. They are nimble and quick, moving through the water like sea snakes. They feed on aquatic animals and plants, and their flat jaws are perfect for scraping off vegetation and coral from rocks and rough surfaces. Water Vikai are usually avoided due to their off-putting appearance, however, they can be one of the most affectionate sub-types of Vikai. Riders of this type do not need to breathe water, as the Vikai are experts at both deep water and surface swimming, with lungs that can breathe air. Their skin is prone to drying out, which forces them to remain water-bound.

Fae Vikai (Reworking Magic/Sky)

    General Lore
    Fae Vikai are the most rarest of all Vikai. They are small and are often mistaken for many other insectoid species. They can reach a few different sizes based on food supply which mainly relies on insects and in some cases pollen or honey. These Vikai are incredibly curious and love to investigate new beings in their territory. 

    Requirements:
    Slit Eyes. 
    Anatomy that matches the one above.
    Bug wings. 
    Tail must be bug-like
    Atleast 4 limbs

    Can Add:
    Horns/Spikes
    Up to 8 limbs
    Extra Eyes
    Fur
    Insect Armour
    Scales
    Feathers
    Can be from 8inches to 2feet. (Can be made horse-sized with a companion mutation)

Traits

Body Mutations

Fur/Furless

Any type of fur is allowed. Length can not exceed 2x body size. Fur is optional. Should not mimic feather trait or fins trait. 

Natural Ears

Any type of natural ears. One pair. It can be hidden like a reptile's. Should not be bigger than 1.5x the head size. 

Belly Scales

Can vary in shape. Can be placed on the throat, chest, stomach, and tail. 

Dwarf Wings

Dwarf wings can not sustain flight, and can not be larger than half the body length. Insect wings that come in 2 pairs connected at the base are considered 1 trait. Multiple trait tokens are required for each seperate pairs of wings. 

Horns and Spikes

Generally allows horns on the head and/or spikes on the body. Does not overwrite specific limb traits such as Aphex snout shapes and Shingaling Bell growths etc. 

Small Scales

Can vary in appearance. Scales are small.

Extra Tail

One extra tail per trait token. 

Feathers

Any style of feathers on the body. Can create feathered tails and capes. 

Fins

Unlocks finned tails. Also allows cerata growths. Fins can appear as examples or stylized. 

Glowing Features

Glowing patterns are not controllable. Can either be constantly visible or only in dark settings. 

Large Wings

Large wings that can sustain flight. Insect wings that come in 2 pairs connected at the base are considered 1 trait. Multiple trait tokens are required for each seperate pairs of wings. Wing type selection is the same as dwarf wings. 

Tentacles

Can replace the tail, extra tail traits needed if multiple large tentacles are placed on the lower back mimicking tails. Tentacles are prehensile.

Chitin Armour

Spike trait is not needed for protusions on the armor only. Armor can not be placed on parts of the body that may mimic other traits (armored snout etc). 

Mineral Growth

Mineral Growth can be any of the following: Metals, gems, pearls, or synthetic gems (One mineral per trait token). This trait applies mineral growth to the skin patterns and existing traits! You need a spikes/horn trait to have growths. Entire body can not be covered in mineral growth. 

Special Blood

Allows glitter, glowing, or gradient blood appearance. One mutation per trait token. 

Extra Eyes
God

Allows extra eyes on the body (a reasonable number to function). Extra eyes do not need eye traits to customize the pupil. 

Gel Skin
God

Gel skin can be placed anywhere on the body. Can turn muscles underneath transparent as well to show organs and bones. 

Mineral Head
God

Makes the entire head of one type of mineral. Allows any sort of horn/spike/crown growth allowed on the head without other traits.
