Croager (E1)

Some male Croagers may develop broad caps to attract females in the day, when competition is overwhelming at night, sacrificing their vibrant glowing heads for an array of dazzling colours in the light. 

Croagers are loud but small creatures most noted for their mushroom-like caps. They secrete a strange scent that attracts others of their kind but scares off any predators. It is also observed that only males of this species have a glowing cap, which lights up the forest at night as the males attempt to attract the females; usually, the brighter the glow, the greater the chance the male has.
